The Kemah Water Recreation area is a major tourist draw.  Millions of visitors come each year to visit the Kemah Boardwalk, ride the wooden roller coaster and other rides, then dine at the waterfront restaurants.  Sailing excursions are offered by a variety of charter companies operating from the many marinas (Clear Lake has the third highest concentration of sailboats in one area in the world!) or can be arranged with Capt Brent, your host, right from your back door.

There are a many great places to dine in our area.  Just east on 518 is Skipper's, a local icon and preferred gathering spot for locals to have breakfast and catch up on the news.  The Outrigger has some of the best fried seafood and cold draft choices of any restaurant, as well as a great view of the boat channel from the decks.  Have a cold one and watch the boats come through the channel.

You can visit the NASA space center on the north side of the lake.  Who can ever forget "Houston....we have a problem".  You might want to visit the San Jacinto monument and battleground, an historical site and defining moment in Texas' struggle for independence.  Situated next to the momument is the battleship USS Texas.  Tours are available and well worth taking.  All within a short drive.

Just south of us is Galveston Island, Schlitterbohn Water Park, Sea Wolf Park, and the Strand, Galveston's historical business district.  Shops are opening up again after Hurricane Ike and the local businesses will treat you with our typical Texas hospitality.

Or if you want to stay home, there's a grill on the back patio.  Dine outside, enjoy drinks, and watch the sun set over the water.
